The Future of Omnigems

Hello everyone!

Not long ago we teased a beautiful, new trait not yet seen within the omnigems collection & I promised you all an update.

So heres the news 🎉

Trait Shuffles Galore

Omnigems trait shuffling will be coming to ALL Omnigems, not just diamond dogs; however, it comes at a price.

We’ve been thinking hard about what it means for an NFT community to have real sustainability & what we think would keep things fresh. Here's the system we’ve come up with and why.

New Mechanics

Trait shuffling comes to all Omnigem NFTs, but based on their tier (normal, gem or diamond) attaining trait shuffling will cost you Omnigems.

Diamond dogs get trait shuffling natively.

Gem-based dogs ( Sapphire, Topaz, Ruby, & Emerald ) will require you trade in one Omnigem of any type to unlock.

Normals attain trait shuffling mechanics by trading in five Omnigems.

When you trade in your Omnigems, you’ll receive a new NFT representative of the traits your dog had. That NFT can be applied to another Omnigem to increase the number of traits it has available to it.

Shuffling traits will be random & cost you a tiny bit of AKTA. You’ll be able to spend more to grant yourself a higher chance of attaining specific traits within your Omnigems available ‘trait pool'... as long as what you’re hoping to create isn’t already taken ( cant have duplicates after all! )

New traits

When you trade in an Omnigem, the NFT will be updated back to a blank slate & new traits will be assigned for it to be sold once again. Batches of these traded in Omnigems will have a chance to get all new traits, such as the shark costume trait above.

We see these new mechanics as a sure fire way to keep the collection fresh without diluting the supply. Over time, the hope is that through trait shuffling & new traits being added through trade in sales, we can continually keep the collection fresh. This will allow everyone the opportunity for their Omnigem to become truly one of a kind!

Diamond Dogs

Diamond dog minting is still in the works. As we inch closer to that day and continue to add features to the main collection, it's important that we keep the diamond dogs special. In addition to native trait shuffling, we’re going to make sure certain traits are only ever accessible to the diamonds 😘

There’s still a few secrets we’re keeping, and I look forward to the reactions we have when they’re revealed.
